Q.2) What are the eligibility criteria for the PGDM (DM) programme?
Ans:
- Minimum 3-years Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institute by UGC or AICTE. Students appearing for their final degree examination may also apply.
- Valid Score in CAT 2024 / XAT 2025 / GMAT/ CMAT 2025/ MAT (Sep. 2024 or later) for PGDM (DM) 2025-27 admissions.
- Reservation Policy: As per the rules applicable to educational institutions in Bihar
Q.3) Are final-year degree students eligible for the admission process?
Ans: Yes. Students appearing for their final year degree examination may also apply. The students must complete their final year examinations before joining the program. The students from all disciplines with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates) in aggregate from a recognized University / Institute by UGC or AICTE are eligible for applying to the program.
Q.4) What is the intake of DMI?
Ans: DMI has approved intake of 60 for the PGDM (DM) Programme.
Q.5) How can I apply for DMI?
Ans: The admission process for the Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management (DM) starts with an Admissions Notification by the Institute in the newspapers, other print and electronic media, and the website of the Institute. The notification is issued during October - November for the batch commencing its programme in July 2025. All applications for admission to PGDM(DM) must be filled out online by visiting the DMI’s Website for admissions: https://admissions.dmi.ac.in/

Q.7) How can I get application form & brochure of DMI?
Ans: Students have to fill the online application form. The students register themselves on the admissions portal (admissions.dmi.ac.in) by verifying their phone number. Students who have registered are provided with a login ID and password sent on their registered email ID to complete the rest of the application. Once the application is completed and the fee payment is done, the filled-in application will be available for download. The students receive a hard copy of the brochure upon submission of their application for admission to PGDM (DM) 2025-27 online.

Q.8) Does DMI require any Management Entrance Exams for admission into PGDM (DM) programme?
- Ans:
- At the time of submitting the application, the students should register for any one or more of the Management Entrance Exams (CAT 2024, XAT 2025, MAT (Sep. 2024 or after), CMAT 2025, GMAT).
- You must provide the exam registration details, choose the result awaited as an option and complete the rest of the application, including the fee payment.
- Once the results are announced, you may visit your dashboard, update the application with the score/percentile, and upload the scorecard document on the portal for the selection process.
Q.10) What is the criteria for selection in the PGDM (DM) programme?

The Institute may define cut-off scores for each or a few of the above processes for selection of candidates, and may also define sectional cut-off scores within each or any of the above processes.
Q.11) What is the average/cut-off marks for selection in PGDM (DM)?
Ans: The selection in DMI is on a merit basis, and the top 60 candidates (considering the Bihar reservation policy for educational institutions) who have performed exceptionally well and received the highest marks will be offered admission to the PDM Programme.
Q.12) Which scorecard will be considered if I provide more than one scorecard?
Ans: For the consideration of the scorecard for evaluation purposes, either the candidate must confirm on the selection day (GD & PI) or that the Institute will consider the scorecard in which the candidate has scored a maximum and is valid for the particular admissions year.
Q.13) Is there any possibility for Online interview for selection Process?
Ans: The selection process (GD & PI) is expected to be offline for 2025-27 admissions. However, DMI may conduct an online selection process uniformly for all the candidates in the event of unanticipated exigencies. DMI does not reimburse any travel expenses incurred in attending the selection process in person at DMI or any other venue.
Q.14) Where does the GE/PI is conducted?
Ans: The GE/PI shall preferably be conducted in the institute’s premises at Second Floor in Udyog Bhawan, Patna, Bihar
Q.15) Can DMI arrange my GE/PI in other state?
Ans: If DMI will organize the GE/ PI in other states, it will be well communicated to the candidates in advance and the tentative schedule will be uploaded on the website.
Q.16) Does DMI offers any other course?
Ans: DMI offers only one programme - a two-year fully residential PGDM in Development Management, which is approved by AICTE.
Q.17) I am a graduation final-year student can I appear for the selection process this year?
Ans: Students in the final year of graduation may also apply for admission to the PGDM (DM) programme in the DMI. However, you must provide the final year graduation mark sheet before the commencement of the programme.

Ans: Since its inception, DMI has had a record of full Placements with some students receiving more than one offer

Ans: The average package offered last year during placements was Rs.4.8 lakhs

Q.21) What is the fee structure of DMI?
Ans: The total fee of the PGDM (DM) programme is ₹ 6 lakhs. The amount is payable as five instalments (Term wise) in two years.
Q.22) Is there any other charges?
Ans:
- An additional amount of ₹ 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) is to be paid as caution money upon offer of admission, which is refundable.
- Hostel accommodation cost is subsidized but participants must pay ₹ 1,500 (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) per month towards the hostel maintenance fee.
- Food charges are to be paid to the service provider.
Q.23) Can I do it as a day scholar (without taking a hostel or staying on my own)?
Ans: The PGDM (DM) programme is fully residential, and the participants must stay in the hostel. The Institute provides the best possible amenities to make participants’ life in the hostel comfortable. The hostel has recreational facilities, round-the-clock security, and electronic surveillance, helping in promoting a quality lifestyle.

Ans: The Development Management Institute (DMI) is conceived and established by the Govt. of Bihar as an autonomous institution. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar is the president of the DMI Society that governs the institute
Q.21) Is DMI affiliated with any University?
Ans: DMI is an autonomous management institute and its two-year PGDM (DM) programme is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since its inception in 2014.
Q.22) What is the medium of education at DMI?
Ans: The medium of communication is English in the PGDM (DM) programme.
Q.23) Does DMI offer any correspondence course?
Ans: Currently, DMI is not offering any correspondence or part-time course.
Q.24) Does DMI provide any scholarships for pursuing the PGDM (DM) program?
Ans: DMI offers all its students merit-based scholarships - up to 100% tuition fee waiver. Every PDM participant will be eligible for Scholar Support through a partial/ full fee waiver for every Interactive Learning Term based on her/ his performance in the immediate preceding Interactive Learning Term. Experiential Learning happens in three phases: Development Immersion (DI), Enterprise Learning (EL), and Management Internship (MI).
- Development Immersion (DI): (Five Weeks) : Development Immersion involves first-hand experience of understanding and working within diverse development contexts;
- Enterprise Learning (EL): (Six Weeks) : Enterprise Learning focuses on learning about functional aspects of governance and management of enterprises, resources, and institutions; and
- Management Internship (MI): Ten Weeks: Management Internship engages participants to work on projects about livelihoods promotion and/or project work in community/ cooperative/ social collective enterprises or government/ civil society organisations including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
