Summary of Experience


Dr. Navin Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Marketing area at the Development Management Institute (DMI), Patna. He has previously served as faculty in Marketing at the Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur, IIM Bodh Gaya, and OP Jindal University.

Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from NIT Rourkela and is UGC-NET qualified with JRF in Commerce. He is an alumnus of Hindu College and the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and has also completed an Executive Programme in Strategic Digital Marketing and Analytics from IIM Rohtak.

His research interests lie at the intersection of marketing, consumer psychology, technology, and tourism, with a focus on Destination Branding and Engagement, Neuromarketing and Consumer Neuroscience, Chatbots and Conversational Agents in Tourism, and Tourism Metaverse. His research has been presented at leading academic forums, including the American Marketing Association (AMA) Summer Conference, Chicago; PAN-IIM World Management Conference; and COSMAR, IISc Bangalore.

Dr. Kumar contributes to the academic community as a reviewer and review board member for reputed journals, including the Journal of Marketing Management and The Service Industries Journal. His teaching expertise encompasses Neuromarketing, Marketing Management, B2B Marketing, Product and Brand Management, Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Sustainability Marketing. He has also coordinated and delivered several government-sponsored training and consultancy programmes.
