Project Manager WASH

As Program Manager (PM), you should be able to efficiently and effectively manage the implementation, expansion, and strategic development of the WASH-O project, training, and capacity-building activities. The PM shall ensure the overall success of the WASH-O programs by making sure the WASH team completes the defined activities while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations; and that the program is completed on time, within budget, and with acceptable quality.

Experience

• Must have a degree in a relevant discipline and preferably relevant postgraduate qualification (for example, focusing on rural management, rural development, development management, social work, management, development studies, environmental engineering etc.)

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the context of Bihar, preferably in the WASH sector, water sector reform, capacity development of WASH stakeholders

• Knowledge of current WASH programs and policies

• Experience in preparation and writing successful EOI’s/Bids/Proposals including technical input for multi- and bi-lateral stakeholders

• Strong abilities in planning, budgeting, and management

• Ability to manage stakeholders such as Public Health Engineering Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Rural Development Department etc.

• Strong writing, communication, and presentation skill

Roles and responsibilities

You will join an existing, expanding team of WASH-O and are expected to perform the following duties: 

• Lead the development and implementation of the WASH team’s strategic work plan, including the introduction of new approaches, methods, and practices in project management & evaluation, and also ensure the achievement of specific objectives

• Steer and support WASH staff in the design, management, implementation, and monitoring of various activities

• Participate in monitoring and documentation activities of projects.

• Participate and lead where required in the development of new proposals

• Developing networks and relationships with partners, donors, and clients 

• Design, coordinate and mobilize resources to conduct training programs and projects related to WASH and other related areas

• Any other work as required for the growth and expansion of WASH-O.

Contract: The contract would be for 11 months which would be renewed based on the available funding and performance.
