Prof. Jaya Kritika Ojha (Assistant Professor)

About Faculty: 
Jaya Kritika Ojha is an Assistant Professor at DMI. Prior to this she was an Assistant Professor at The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara. Jaya is a Ph.D. from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. Her Ph.D. work focuses on Empowerment of Women Artisans through Capacity Building Training. She obtained her first master degree, M.Sc. in Human Development and Family Studies from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. She has been a scholar of the India-Italy Development Cooperation and completed her second masters in Development Studies from the 'La Sapienza' University of Rome, Italy with special focus on Non-Farm Activities and Rural Development in Developing Countries. Jaya has been a recipient of University Gold medal for her bachelors from Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner. Jaya has published several research papers in the journals of national and international repute. She has also presented research papers in different international- national conferences and seminars. She has been actively involved in documenting development issues through audio-visual mediums. Jaya has previously worked with PRADAN, SRIJAN, SEWA Academy and URMUL Trust, the livelihoods promotion organisations in India. She is also associated with Desert Resource and Research Centre, Bikaner.
Area of Interest: 
Jaya's research interests include Non-Farm Livelihoods, Women-Leadership and Capabilities, Gender, Human Development, Development Communication for women and youth, developing capacity building tools, and training-learning material.
