Consultant-Water Supply and Engineering

As Water Supply and Engineering consultant, you should have demonstrated sound knowledge of Water Supply in the context of Bihar or such similar states. You will demonstrate the ability to technically support various projects as a water supply lead for related input. 

The consultant shall support the WASH-O in project management, capacity development and training activities, and research focusing on water & sanitation access in rural areas. The successful applicant will be involved in the rural piped drinking water supply systems, piped distribution systems, and related themes.

Experience

Must have a degree in a relevant discipline and preferably relevant postgraduate qualification (for example, focusing on civil engineering, environmental engineering, water engineering etc.)

A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the context of the WASH sector, water sector reform, capacity development of WASH stakeholders

Sound experience and technical capacity in the design and supervision of Water Sector engineering projects, ideally in a rural context- preferably from Bihar

Experience in preparation and writing successful EOI’s/Bids/Proposals including technical input for multi- and bi-lateral stakeholders

Preference will be given to those who have experience working with PHED Bihar

Strong writing, communication, and presentation skill

Roles and responsibilities

You will join an existing, expanding team of WASH-O and are expected to perform the following duties: 

Work on a wide range of projects using your technical skills to assist the team in delivering various donor commitments 

Design, coordinate and mobilize resources to conduct training programs related to WASH and other related areas

Providing strong supervision of Water Supply and Sanitation projects implementation process

Proactively exploring new funding opportunities and leading and contributing to high-quality expressions of interest and proposals to strengthen the WASH-O technically and financially

Developing networks and relationships with partners, donors, and clients 

Lead projects and studies through the project life cycle of problem definition, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and drawing succinct conclusions and recommendations

Any other work as required for the growth and expansion of WASH-O.

Contract: The contract would be for 11 months which would be renewed based on the available funding and performance.
